U.S. Consultant Dan Kildee, D-Mich., will step away from his congressional duties for “a few weeks” after a scan discovered a small tumor in considered one of his tonsils, his workplace introduced Friday.
Kildee, who represents the eighth Congressional District together with Flint, Saginaw and Midland, initially scheduled a scan for a swollen lymph node after consulting docs. After scans, Kildee was recognized with squamous cell carcinoma, which the workplace says is “severe but treatable.”
“Thankfully, I caught it very early. With early detection and good doctors, they found a very small tumor in one of my tonsils,” Kildy mentioned in an announcement. He mentioned he would have surgical procedure to take away the cancer within the coming weeks, and has been suggested by docs that he would take extra weeks to get well from surgical procedure earlier than he might resume working in Congress.
